Arrive At Mount Lofty
We will pick you up in Central Adelaide and transport you to the summit of Mount Lofty, which at 710m is the highest point in the Mount Lofty Ranges, and offers stunning views of Adelaide, the Adelaide hills, and the plains below. From here it is downhill all the way back to Adelaide.
After a stop for photos, we will provide you with a good quality mountain bike and helmet, and make sure you are comfortable and happy with your bike.
Ride To Cleland Wildlife Park
From the start, it is a short ride though Cleland Conservation park to our first stop of the day, Cleland Wildlife park.
Say Hello To Kangaroos, Koalas And Emus
In Cleland Wildlife Park you will have a chance to wander at leisure and feed or pat kangaroos, wallabies, emus and many other native wildlife. You may even have the chance to pat a koala.
Here, we’ll have a little morning tea right here while you relax in the natural surrounds.
The 17km Downhill Back To Adelaide
After we leave the wildlife park, we get to enjoy the best part of the whole trip. The ride through Cleland Conservation Park is absolutely stunning. It’s all downhill, and has some fun rough sections, along with other nice flat and fast bits!
It’s also an absolute money back guarantee you WILL see wild koalas as we ride through the park!
After about 10km we drop out into the suburbs of Adelaide, and we then have a final spin along some quiet backstreets where you will see some lovely houses and suburban parks. Finally we will pop out into the Adelaide parklands at Victoria Park, where we get a great view back up to the summit of Mount Lofty, were we started 3 hours and 18km ago!
The Escapegoat Difference
With over 4000 happy guests, we know how to make sure you have a great time.
We specialise in small group experiences– you won’t find yourself in a group with 20 others.
We have been operating since 2008 and are the only business operating with an British Cycling level 3 MTB leader qualified instructor- this is a significant qualification, and not just a 2 day course to teach school kids to ride bikes.
We are a fully accredited tourism business and a licensed tour operator, and are the only commercial tour operator currently licensed by DEWNR to operate MTB tours in their Adelaide National Parks. We are also a licensed Passenger Transport business.
We have top-quality high end equipment and are supported by Norco bikes so you can be sure you will be riding great bikes- our hire bikes are high end bikes, and are almost all brand new models.
Ian is a qualified skills coach- not just able to ride well, we are trained to TEACH. Just because someone is a good rider it does not necessarily make them a good teacher. He is also qualified to teach MTBA skills instructors.
We received the “Certificate of Excellence” from Trip Advisor based on our continued 5* ratings and reviews for 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014 & 2015, and consistently voted the best outdoor activity in SA!
Excellent tour guide. Great seeing the koalas in their natural habitat.
Ian my guide was great. Showed me around some very nice single trails at Fox Creek. Excellent value!!!
