And then it was time for another Part I skills day!
The forecast on Saturday was for showers, but at least it wasn’t too cold and windy up at Eagle, so we were able to put up the new tent- this was to replace the cheap one that got destroyed two weeks earlier- and after all that it never even rained!
We had 6 participants this time, Mark, William, Andrew, Lee, Naomi & Julia. The day started off as usual with everyone getting warmed up on the obstacle course, before we tried a few races and challenges, which were designed to get everyone thinking about their body position and balance on the bikes. Then it was off for a ride around Eagle Park to test out all the theory. We also tried to tackle a few other challenges, particularly Julia’s fear of right-hand switchbacks, with varying success!
Then it was back to base for lunch and a coffee and relax, before tackling the afternoon skills of wheel lifts and trackstands. After that there was just time for a bit of Deborah’s brownies and chocolate slices, before the games began!
Most popular was the physical contact last-man-standing challenge, with some very dodgy bending of rules going on! And then finally, no one could resist having a crack at a few of the seesaws and north shore in the park.
This was a great end to a good day. Of course William and Andrew hadn’t had enough, so they then headed off again to do one final loop of the park. I hope you all enjoyed it guys! See you on the trails soon!
